Hong Kong
Hong Kong is much more than just for shopping and eating. At least it is for me as I've been there several times since coming to East Asia to work in 2008. What I like most about HK is its mixed character (Chinese society, English rules, legal system, education etc) and its hills and mountains. It might come as a surprise to some, but much of HK is mountains, forests, and wide open space. Even on Hong Kong island, which is full of office skyscrapers on its north side that form one of the world's most impressive skylines. HK has 3 main parts: Hong Kong island, Kowloon, which faces HK island across the bay, and the New Territories which makes up much of HK's interior and has a history dating back to 500 years ago. There's also Lantau island, my favorite place in HK in terms of scenery and mountains. Lantau is where HK's airport (and Disneyland) is located.
